Devils & Demons is a true passion project
Devils & Demons was an ambitious attempt to revive an old Java-based hack-and-slash game by transforming it into a turn-based tactical RPG—combining the strategic depth of XCOM with the dark fantasy flair of Diablo.
Released in 2015, it was one of HandyGames’ most high-quality mobile titles at the time, built on an enhanced version of the in-house “Frozen Engine.” For the first time in a HandyGames title, characters received full voice acting, adding a cinematic touch to the gameplay experience.
Although the game did not achieve the commercial success we hoped for, a major expansion called Arena Wars was still developed. Unfortunately, despite deeper tactical content and a storyline that ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, the second release failed to gain the traction needed to continue the series.
